Brianna Stark (STARK MOTION) Based in Vancouver, Canada, Brianna has been producing her original solo creations since 2007. Influenced by her career as a contemporary dance artist and training in Halprin Life/Art process she has defined her own approach as an intuitive process which is both structured and open ended. Brianna was recently selected as artist in residence for the 6th Annual Sunshine Coast Dance Residency, 2009, where she premiered her latest one woman show combining dance and video projection. She is a graduate of the Tamalpa Institute, CA, holds a BA from the University of Winnipeg and is a graduate of the School of Contemporary Dancers, Winnipeg. For the past decade Brianna’s dance career and studies have taken her across Canada and the U.S., to France, Vienna and India with generous support from the Winnipeg Arts Council, Manitoba Arts Council, TanzWochen Wien, Dancer Transition Resource Centre, and Canada Council for the Arts. Brianna looks forward to returning to NYC since performing with Ruth Cansfield Dance Company in the APAP conferences, 2003 and 2004.
