"...an honest, funny & ultimately poignant exploration..."
Mark Collins/The Daily Camera

Glimpses of an obsessive personality and some of his adventures as he attempts desperately to cling onto objects and things that he thinks will help him navigate through life. While exploring and attempting to understand his OCD related instincts better, he searches for & finds the root of it.

When I was writing this show, I thought I was outing my freak, but the more I spoke to people about it and heard their own experiences with obsessions, the more I realized how human and universal it was. The extra pens you stash in your desk. The packets of Sweet and Low from the coffee shop.  That was my mother's favorite. We found hundreds of them stashed in her stuff after she died.  Or even hoarding your heart.  I began this project to out myself as a hoarder and discovered weʼre all hoarding something.

Cast and Crew

Lee Michael Buckman (actor/writer)

The first part of Lee's career was inadvertently dedicated to learning the technical aspect of live performing. The early years spent in skit comedy & improv groups, stand-up & interactive productions. He was the original Vinnie Black for the Natl.Tour of "Tony & Tina's Wedding" as well as jumping into the NYC production. Other stage roles include Parnell James in the racially charged "Blues for Mr. Charlie" at the Natl. Black Theater in Harlem & Yasha in the holocaust piece, "The Gift (Legacy)" at T.Schreiber Studios in NYC. His television credits include "Law & Order" (a NYC actor's rite of passage), "Law & Order:CI" & "One Life To Live". This is Lee's first endeavor into the "one man show" format & were it not for the tutelage & support of director Brad Calcaterra of Sally Johnson Studios, it may not have manifested at all.

Brad Calcaterra (director)

As a director, Brad works closely with actors, honing in on the actors’ unique qualities and true creative genius, while pushing through fears that block expression and creativity. Brad is the co-owner of the Sally Johnson Studio in New York City (www.sallyjohnsonstudio.com) where he directs an ongoing solo performance workshop called RISK. From this workshop, cutting edge one-person shows are developed and nurtured into production. Brad’s direction can be seen in the feature film East Broadway, official selection of the 2006 tribeca film festival; and Four Eyed Monsters, 2007 Independent Spirit Award nominee and Official Selection of 2005 Slamdance, Gen-art, and SXSW film festivals. Aside from "Bags: Obsessions of a Hoardaholic," Brad recently co-created and directed the solo shows: johnpaulgeorgeringo with Dave Jay, official selection of 2008 NY International Fringe Festival, “BEST SOLO SHOW” Fringe Encore Series; Dear Dad Confessions of Go Go, official selection, 2007 Fringe festival, 2007 solo nova festival at p.s. 122, 2006 Artist of Tomorrow Festival; Y, Marilyn Unstitched with Irene Glezos, Frigid Fest 2009; Bye Bye Lisa with Lisa Rothhauser; and Milk with Julia Knight. Brad just completed direction on the Upcoming Web Series, Hello Cruel World, and the feature film, Y, which was shot entirely in one continuous take. As an actor Brad has co- starred on several television series -- most recently, the 2008 season premiere of Law and Order, and he can also be seen in this summer’s blockbuster, Wanted. He has over 24 film credits to his name.
