In this hilarious (and true!) story of self-discovery, John Hefner--the estranged cousin of Hugh Hefner--finds himself in a series of misadventures and mortifications as he struggles to answer the question, "How do you make a name for yourself when someone else already has?" A bracingly honest tour-de-force!

THE HEFNER MONOLOGUES premiered at the 2nd Annual Capital Fringe Festival, 2007 in Washington, DC, and was additionally performed at the 2008 Orlando and Boulder Fringe Festivals. After Frigid, John will be taking the show to Montreal, Winnipeg, Indianapolis, and Vancouver Fringe Festivals, and then--assuming he survives--plans to spend winter in much-deserved hibernation. He premiered his follow-up solo show, THE HEFNER MONOLOGUES: HOW HEFNERIAN, at CapFringe 2008 to rave reviews and will be performing it at Orlando Fringe in May 2009. More info available at

"Can't Miss"..."a promising cross between stand-up comedy, identity monologue, and storytelling."
