What are the consequences of a coincidental meeting of eight deceased individuals at a New York City Subway station? Son of Man is a touching drama, which explores our basic human need for routine and normalcy.

"In its current rendering “Son of Man” might be the one subway train you want to miss over and over again."

In Son of Man, eight characters from diverse parts of the globe find themselves stuck in a subway station.  The subway station is filled nothing but rotten apples, a bench, the famous Magritte painting, and the Son of Man himself, who acts as a mysterious force is everyone's actions.  It is unclear how long these characters have been in this subway station or if they will ever get out.  As the desire to have something from the world they once knew and tensions build and erupt, the characters reveal their fault lines - and their humanity.

Cast and Crew
Alison Ruth is a sophomore from Boston and is pursuing a Cinema Studies major at NYU. Her previous NYU credits include Cloud 9, The Winter’s Tale and The Laramie Project and The Importance of Being Earnest. Thanks to her buddies, her family, and the cast and crew.
Alton Alburo is a Los Angeles native studying in the Stella Adler Conservatory at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. He was last seen in the Midtown International Theatre Festival as Leonard in The Ghost Dancers (Stone Soup Theatre Arts) at the June Havoc Theatre, NY. Thanks to the amazingly gifted directors (and AD), his unbelievably gifted teachers, his encouraging friends, and his ever-supportive family.
Jonathan Abetti is a senior at New York University. Other than concerning himself with the lack of education he receives at NYU, he delights in checking coats for uptight law students as well as speaking Arabic with his local deli vendors. Jonathan also enjoys acting and spending time in his home state of Vermont. He is madly in love with his girlfriend, Allie, and would like to dedicate this performance to her.
Luke Gilson has been involved in drama for several years; however, this is his first production unaffiliated with a school. He wishes to thank everyone involved in the plays production.

Michelle Kuchuk- An avid apple eater, Michelle is extremely excited to be a part of Son of Man. Favorite roles include Adelaide in Guys and Dolls and Little Red in Into the Woods. Production credit includes Off-Off Broadway showcase: A Kite Cut Loose in the Middle of the Sky at Nicu's Spoon Theatre. Michelle would like to thank Drew and Anna for providing the apples and other indispensable advice, Claire for her Southern Accent tutoring, and would like to dedicate this performance to Jolie and Ali.

Milan Sundaresan is currently a lowly NYU student who will sadly but truly end up in law school. But someday, hopefully in the near future, when she is busing tables at a Hollywood diner, she will be discovered by a famous, handsome, and single director who will offer her eternal fame, fortune, and glory. She will then give back to the world by working for the Red Cross' Disaster Relief program.
Rikki Bahar – Rikki is currently attempting to acquire a degree in "Expressionism" at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study, at NYU, where anything is possible. Her concentration will include studies in the dramatic arts, music and dance. Rikki's current theatre experience is quite minimal, but it is what inspires her to continue in this field of dreams: Laughter on the 23rd Floor, Survivor, Twelve Angry Jurors, Steven, and Linus and Alora. She also enjoys writing, creatively, of course, and often journalistically. She is so proud to be a part of the wonderful and crazy world of Son of Man.

Scott Goldfarb, a freshman at NYU, is totally excited to play the part that suited him best: as god of all men. When he is not bringing people under his spell, Scott can often be seen reading, ruminating, movie watching, and extreme walking around New York. Scott feels quite honored to be in this show and hopes it will bode well for a few more. Shout outs go to my lovely directors, this great cast, my family, Corey, Eliav, Krebby, Joel, Natalee, and Sinead! You’re all wonderful people in all your special ways.

Seref Njemcevie is in his last year at NYU, concentrating in Theatre Studies at the Gallatin School of Individualized Studies. His credits include Tales of Common Insanity and The Winter's Tale with the College of Arts and Science Theatre Troupe. Performing in Tales of Common Insanity led Seref to focus more centrally on theatre. Upon graduation, he plans to continue to pursue theatre, travel and continue to excel in kesme.

Anna Lidia Umansky is finishing her studies in Dramatic Literature and Fine Art History at New York University. She has been involved in directing and designing productions with the College of Arts and Science Theatre Troupe and looks forward pursuing theatre professionally. Son of Man has been a long journey and she would like to thank everyone who came along for the ride, especially Taffy’s friends and elephant admirers.

Drew McDonald is an undergraduate student at New York University, and next year, after he graduates, he is going to have to become a real person. This is scary for Drew, but nonetheless, a wonderful new adventure. Drew has been doing theater since he was 10 years old, performing in over 20 musicals and plays. He wants to thank his wonderful co-director, assistant director, and cast for making this an amazing show!

Susan Casey is very pleased to serve as assistant director for Son of Man. She's a junior in NYU Tisch's dramatic writing program, and also studies theater with the Upright Citizen's Brigade theater and NYU's C.A.S.T. She made her off-off broadway debut last spring with the Open Theater Company's Upon a Weaving. Enjoy the show!
